Product of the Month...December

Hello My Lovelies

Wow can you believe it's the end of the year already? Where has 2014 gone?! I'm finishing the year with a product I bought earlier in the year and has become my weekend/special occasion item!

My product for the month of December is...Anastasia Brow Wiz in the colour Ash Blonde.

The pencil is light and fine and blends beautifully, I can't stand waxy pencils luckily this isn't- with such light eyebrows I have to be super careful with the colour I use on my brows but this is just the right colour.
I'm not to keen on the eyebrow brush, but then I never tend to use them anyway. For the price at £15.50 I tend to only use this on the weekends/nights out and in the week I use the Rimmel eyebrow pencil in Hazel which is also a good match for my eyebrows but is a little scratchy to apply and not quite as good as the Brow Wiz.

I would definitely recommend this product if you're wanting/needing to try a new eyebrow pencil, I'm going to repurchase the pencil when I finish it and I'm always on the look out for companies that sell it especially if they a discount day.

Have you tried any of the Anastasia products?

Till next time,

What's in my holiday carry on?

Hello My Lovelies

I'm soon to be going on holiday to Iceland and whilst I was packing my carry on I decided that you all might like to see what's inside of it. I love these kinds of posts as it gives me idea's for when I go away and plus I'm just a bit nosy!

The Bag!

I chose a Mountain Warehouse rucksack, as I'll be going on lots of excursions and in the snow I picked a ruck sack, I haven't one since school (which was a longgg time ago) so it will be nice to have one again and add to the sense of adventure.

Makeup bag...

This literally has the essentials in it, I hate having to get every thing out and putting it into the clear bags- so I have my most prized beauty procession Vaseline, Hourglass powder (I don't want it to smash), Anastasia Brow Wiz and Nars creamy concealer

Camera..

For getting some great shots of the ice and snow!

Purse/Tickets/passport

I'm so excited for this trip its been booked for months and has been a place I've wanted to visit for years! Look out for a blog post all about my adventures in the near future.

Till next time,

London at Christmas!

Hello My Lovelies

This past weekend I went and met my old Uni friends in London. We try to meet up a few times a year and we always meet in London at Christmas as its so festive and gets us all in the Christmassy mood!

I met them both just around the corner from Sloane Square underground station near to the Saatchi Gallery- where I people watched and had my fingers crossed that I might see some of the cast from Made in Chelsea or Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman, but it was not to be on this occasion!
I've been wanting to go to the Saatchi Gallery for such a long time and haven't visited since the gallery was along the Southbank.

The gallery was fab and I got to see some really interesting pieces of modern art, though I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to see the big spider installation!

We then decided it was time for some lunch and we took a walk along to a great pub in Sloane Square called the Antelope.

With full bellies and Christmas presents exchanged it was time for some shopping! I went to London with just one thing on my shopping list....A By Terry Ombre Blackstar and so I had to pop into Space NK to have a look! How ever I wasn't so sure about the By Terry product as it looked a bit too sparkly for me and I couldn't decide on the colour, so I picked up Nars creamy concealer which my friend reminded me had been on one of my blog wish lists for a while now!

I wasn't feeling to great (dreaded cold) so I said my good byes and before long I was on the train travelling back to the island. What a lovely meet up we had- I can't wait for more in 2015!

Have you been to London this festive season? Let me know!!

Till next time,

Empties Number 5!

Hello My Lovelies!

Here are all of the good and not so good empties for the past month or so!
First up Simple Kind to Skin Protecting moisturiser, a lovely light non greasy factor 30 moisturiser-so good for the price and one that I have already repurchased!

Soap & glory Orangeasm, this products is definitely a love it or hate it one. I'm in the hate it category. I thought it was going to be similar to the sugar crush but it's far from. I won't be buying this again, and I'm a little disappointed that it's in the big Christmas box that Boots sell.

And...finally the last two products Pantene aqua light shampoo, I love to use this shampoo once or twice a week just to clear my hair of products and one that I have been repurchasing for a year or so now. I love most of the Impulse body sprays and always have a quick spray on my way too work, they are really affordable and fab to take in your bag for a freshen up in the day.

Have you tried any of these products, what did you think of them- let me know in the comments!

Till next time,

Christmas/Winter Haul!

Hello My Lovelies

I recently uploaded a beauty haul and decided to keep these non beauty bits & bobs for this blog post- it's very Christmassy/Wintery and I hope will help you all get in the mood or give you some inspiration for gifts for you or maybe even yourself!

First up these reindeer F&F (Tesco) pj bottoms, they are super soft and comfy and I love the cute little reindeer and his red lips. They cost £8!

Next up I couldn't resist this cute bath mat from Marks & Spencer, I had a 20% off voucher which made it even easier to buy. I can't wait for December 1st when this will go into my bathroom...It cost £14.00

One of my favourite things ever to buy in Primark are the cosy socks, these are great for keeping my toes warm at night. When I saw these Santa ones I knew I had to have them. £2.00 each!

Whilst in Primark I also picked up these Christmas tree baubles in a candy cane pattern and they will look fab hanging from our tree, these cost £2.00

Finally I popped into Morrisons the other day and saw these super cute Father Christmas straws which I can't wait to pop in a glass of coke or even in an alocholic beverage or two! These cost £2.00 each too!!

Have you bought any Christmas themed items, let me know in the comments!

Origins Face Mask Review

Hello My Lovelies!

A few weeks ago Boots were having a Christmas promotion on the Origins face mask set at £23 for three different ones. Having never tried any of the products but always wanting too, I knew I had to take advantage of the great deal and before I knew it I was back at home trying the first one 'Out of Trouble' 10 minute mask.

The consistency of the mask is super thick, I was actually quite shocked. White in colour it was easily applied, but then I began to smell the scent and I was not impressed. It smells very medicinal and not pleasant at all!

I kept it on for a few minutes, it should of been longer really but I couldn't bare yet smell so I had to remove it. After my skin felt smooth but I didn't see any major improvements or differences.

To say I was a little disappointed with my first product from Origins would probably be an understatement- how ever I am still excited to try the clay mask which a review will be coming up on my blog of very soon.

Have you tried this face mask before? What do you think of the smell? Let me know!

Christmas Wishlist!

Hello My Lovelies

With Christmas fast approaching I thought I'd let you all see my wish list! All of these products are ones I've had my eye on for a while- so lets hope Santa is reading this!

christmas wishlist

Nars Creamy Concealer- I've read so many great reviews about this product over the years and I've never had the chance to buy it but I would love to see it my stocking this year.

Jo Malone Candle- I recently went to a Jo Malone store to smell all the candles and the one that particularly stood out was the Sage and Sea Salt. I would love love love one of the candles as the perfumes are just a little too strong for me.

MAC 217 brush- I think I might buy this as a Christmas present for myself when I go on holiday just before Christmas and pick one up in Duty Free.

The last two items are so pretty that I can't imagine anybody not wanting these under their tree this season. The Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess eyeshadow palette and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette. I already own a lip liner from Charlotte Tilbury and a powder and blush from Hourglass and I absolutely adore everything from both so would like to add more to my collection.

Have you got a wishlist, make sure you share them with me in the comments!

Product of the Month...November

Hello My Lovelies

My product for this month is one that I've really enjoyed using for the past few months and that's great for keeping your skin nice and hydrated during the cold and dry winter.

My product for the month of November is... the Superdrug Calming Facial Sheet Mask.

I started using this mask earlier this year after never trying a sheet mask before. For a mask that only costs £1.29 it's a lovely soft and extremely moist mask with Green tea, Cucumber fruit and Aloe Vera means it's soothing yet refreshing and makes my skin feel super soft every time I've used it.

This drugstore face mask is so good that it rivals some more of my expensive ones, and I've now stocked up on them so that I always have one for emergencies or when even I need a pamper night!

Have you tried this face mask or any of the Superdrug masks- let me know in the comments!

Lip of the Day & First Impressions!

Hello My Lovelies

Yesterday I decided to wear my new lip pencil from Maybelline for the first time! So I thought I'd share my first thoughts with you...

I paired it with my Rimmel lip pencil in Eastend Snob which defines the lip and matches the lip colour perfectly.

The Maybelline lip pencil is so creamy and glides on like a dream! The combination of the two products creates a really subtle matte finish- and I love the pink.

I would definitely make sure your lips were nice and exfoliated before applying as when I first tried the pencil it did cling to some dry areas.

I would be very tempted to go and pick up a few more colours as they are easy to apply and are great to throw in your bag.

Have you picked up any of the Maybelline lip pencils, what do you think of them- let me know in the comments!

My Top 3 Rimmel Products!

Hello My Lovelies

I was thinking the other day how many Rimmel products I love and use on a daily basis and for how many years I've been using them for!! I then thought why not share my favourite three with you all...

My most favoured lip liner is the Exaggerate Full Color Liner in Eastend Snob! A beautiful pinky nude that goes perfectly with my Mac Chatterbox

Next up a beautiful berry nail polish called 'Urban Purple' and is perfect for this time of year. The application of this nail polish is fab as the brush is so wide, and the finished colour is vibrant and shiny.

Lastly the Professional eyebrow pencil in the colour Hazel- I always have trouble trying to find an eyebrow pencil colour that suits my fair brows. The Rimmel eyebrow pencil is almost a perfect match, it glides on, blends like a dream and best of all doesn't look orangey and fake!
I love Rimmel products and think they are such a great drug store brand and one that I always seem drawn too. What are your favourite Rimmel products, let me know in the comments.

Beauty Haul!

Hello My Lovelies,

I've had my eye on a few beauty bits recently and when I had a day off the other day I couldn't resist popping into Liz Earle and Boots to pick these products up!

First up the Liz Earle limited edition Cleanse and Polish in the scent sweet orange and mint.

Soon I was in Boots and I couldn't not leave without the Origins christmas set which has three 75ml tubes of their famous face masks. I have wanted to try this brand for so long but I couldn't justify £23 for one tube!

Whilst in Boots I also picked up one of the Mabelline lip pencils, which are apparently a good dupe for the Nars lip pencils. I picked mine up in the colour Love My Pink.

Finally I decided to use some of my points on the Benefit Tan about Town set it includes mini's Porefessional, Hoola bronzer and Bad Gal mascara. I've wanted to try Hoola bronzer for such a long time but just like the Origins face masks I couldn't justify the price- I'm hoping this cute mini version will help me decide if I need the full size.

And that dear friends is my latest beauty splurge!
Have you picked up any beauty bargains recently, let me know in the comments!

Till next time,

Autumn Essentials!

Hello My Lovelies,

With Autumn here and Winter on it's way I thought I would share with you all my must have and favourite essentials.

First up I love painting my nails in the Autumn/Winter, way more than any other time of the year and this colour is just one of my favourites for this time of year. Sally Hansen Pennies For Heaven nail polish- it's such a beautiful colour and fab for the festive season, I wear this colour a lot during November and December.
Next up...A lovely Yankee Candle in my favourite scent Fireaide Treats, I have these burning in my room every evening during Autumn and Winter and always ask for a couple at Christmas that I then keep in my drawer for the following year.

I always carry a hand cream in the winter and it can be a life saver if you get any dry patches when you're out and about- my chosen one is the L'Occitane Rose Petals and this tube lasts forever.

In the winter months I love reading and watching DVD's- this winter my sister and I have decided we're going to watch Friends from the beginning, we're currently back on season 2!

Do you have any favourite essentials for the colder months-let me know in the comments!

London Poppies Visit.

Hello My Lovelies,

Last Saturday my mum, sister and I went on a whirl wind day trip to London to primarily see the Poppies at the Tower of London but we also fitted in a bit of shopping and some food!

I was actually unaware that the Poppies had been at the Tower of London moat since the summer and so it was actually a bit of a last minute trip and of course we had to go the weekend the underground was shut at Tower gate so there was lots of walking to get to see them, but it was absolutely worth it!

It was such a moving experience even though it was extremely busy, to think that by the time you read this there will be 888,246 ceramic Poppies commemorating a British military fatality during the war.

We walked around as much of the tower as possible but some areas they had stopped the public going into as it was just so very busy. I'm really disappointed that I didn't realise also that they were selling the Poppies at the end of the installation and that I missed out on ordering one.
We then decided to go and have some lunch and we chose to go to Bills Restaurant, I had a lovely burger and fries and my mum and sister had salads. After a bit of a relaxing we jumped back on the underground and went along to Liberty where I picked up my first Liberty Christmas decoration, a wonderful sparkly little bauble!

And then it was time to get back on the train and head home!

It was a fab but very long day...Have you seen the Poppies, let me know in the comments.

Till next time,

Disappointing Product Number 1

Hello My Lovelies,

I've never needed to write a disappointing product post before as up till this point I've loved everything I've tried.
Unfortunately I want to tell you all my thoughts on Hydraluron- I had read so many blog posts about this product and even my hairdresser had told me how great it was that I decided to pay the hefty £24 price tag and give it a go!

Hydraluron according to their website is "The ultimate daily facial moisture boosting serum that starts where your moisturizer stops.  hydraluron™ contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid, an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water.  Red marine algae helps with maximum delivery.  The result – better hydrated, moisture nourished, plumped up skin." How ever when I began to use it I noticed my hand started to get an awful allergy to it. My hand became itchy, sore and little bumps appeared on my hand/finger at first I didn't think it was the product and even went to the doctor who prescribed me medication. Then one day I decided to stop using Hydraluron to see if it was that causing the problem, low and behold the skin allergy became less intense and within a month had almost disappeared.

I contacted Indeed Labs and they said that maybe I had an allergy to one of the ingredients in their product, and yes whilst they were very good at telling me what might of gone wrong they weren't very interested in anything else I had to say/ask them.

It's weird that I had a reaction to this product as I've never had one before to products I've used, but I guess it was just one of those things. I'm also sad that I did react to it as I really wanted to love it.

Boots were great when I went in to explain what had happened, I didn't think they would be interested as I didn't have my receipt but they took it really seriously making sure I was now o.k and gave me a gift voucher for the value of the item- excellent customer service, so thank you Boots!!

Have you had an allergic reaction to Hydraluron or any other products- let me know in the comments!

Happy Halloween!

Hello My Lovelies,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I never used to be a big fan of Halloween, but last year I was lucky enough to spend it with my sister in Oxford and we went to a pumpkin patch and I carved my first pumpkin. This year with the help of my fab dad I've been growing mini white pumpkins, which as far as I'm aware you can't get in this country (or not easily!) and I also picked up some small orange ones.

I've also these past few months started to love baking and so I made these yummy cupcakes with orange icing and scary toppers!

This year we also popped to a local farm shop and they were selling Island pumpkins and such a pretty display inside too!

Did you get a pumpkin or go to a Halloween party- let me know in the comments!!

Till next time,
