Product of the Month of May...Marc Jacobs!

Hello My Lovelies

Welcome to the end of another month and a new favourite product! This month I have not stopped and I mean not stopped using this product every day! It comes from Marc Jacobs in the form of an eyeshadow palette.

I had wanted a Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palette for a long time and when I was in America it was the first thing I bought in Sephora. I looked at all the different shades felt a bit giddy and could of bought all of them but I decided to go for the 'Lover' palette as the selection of colours are ones I knew I would use for both day and night.

My particular favourite colours are the bronze third from the right and champagne colour third from the left as they are both great for transitioning from day to night.

What makes this palette so much better than any other that I use is the quality and the pigmentation of each. A small amount of product covers the whole lid and the longevity is amazing! The packaging is super sleek and comes in a little sleeve for extra protection.

Since I've been home I've had a look at purchasing a smaller palette and now Harrods stock them it means I can save money on the tax and postage I would of spent having it sent from the U.S.

Whilst the Marc Jacobs makeup line isn't cheap it really is worth the extra money for such an impressive range.

Do you own anything from Marc Jacobs beauty? Let me know in the comments!

Till next time,

Current Favourite Concealers!

Hello My Lovelies

I love concealers I'm always on the look out for the ultimate one that will cover booth blemishes and under eye dark circles yet blend in well with my pale skin. Below are some of my current favourites...

These are all new additions to my collection but all seem to be blending well and have the lasting power of 8 hours plus and which I will be repurchasing in the future.

1. Estée Lauder Double Wear: I had heard lots of good things about this concealer so when I was passing the counter in Boots a couple of months ago I went for it. I'm so glad I did as it covers everything I want it too and more.

2. Bourjois City Radiance: This was sold out every where on the island and even when I visited Canterbury I couldn't find one. Once I was home I ordered it online from Boots and it was on offer too. This reminds me a lot of the bareMinerals bare skin concealer which surprisingly is on this post too. It's a great drug store concealer, the only negative is the length of the wand.

3. bareMinerals Complete Coverage Serum: A serum concealer which makes a nice change and glides onto the skin with such ease its a pleasure to apply.

4. Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous: I bought this when I went to Las Vegas in March and I wish I had picked up a couple of these and some more from the brand. For a drug store product it's really creamy and surprisingly non drying around my eyes.

What are your favourite concealers? Leave your recommendations below!

Disappointing Product Number 5-Superdrug DD Cream!

Hello My Lovelies

It's rare that I write disappointing product reviews that's because I usually love everything that I try and in the past three years of blogging this is only the fifth product I've not enjoyed using.

I love the CC Cream from Superdrug so when I saw this new product from them and on offer I decided to give it a go. From the first application I was really disappointed it was greasy and more like a moisturiser then a thick cream that I was expecting. It gave hardly any coverage, now I wasn't expecting a full face but I was hoping for a little more- especially when the BB Cream is a medium coverage consistency.
Not only this but it didn't last long on my face, maybe a few hours before I had to reapply and when I did it was slimy on my face which I detest!

The only plus I found from this product is the colour match, I'm extremely fair skinned and this actually matched me really well and blended nicely into my skin but all the disappointing points couldn't save this from hitting the bin before I had even used it all up!

Have you tried this DD Cream from Superdrug? What are your thoughts, let me know in the comments!

Mac Haul!

Hello My Lovelies

I've had a bit of I love Mac moment going on recently and picked up a couple of products when I visited Canterbury recently here's what I couldn't resist!

I've been wanting the lip liner that goes with my favourite 'night out' lipstick Girl about Town from Mac for months so I decided when I was in Fenwicks in Canterbury I would just take the plunge and purchase it. It's one of their Pro Long wear Lip Pencil's so a little pricier than the Lip Pencil that I picked up in Subculture. I decided to buy this lip pencil after buying the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks in the Las Vegas and wanting a lip pencil that would match it as closely as possible. Once I was home from Vegas another beauty blogger recommended Subculture from Mac so I took her advice and picked one up.

I then couldn't leave without a paint pot in the shade Painterly another product I've wanted to try for so long and only just took the plunge and bought- I did try to pick this up on the way home from Las Vegas but it was out of stock. Since I bought this I haven't stopped using it everyday it's such a fab eye shadow base!

Finally I picked up a Mineralise Skin Finish after reading that Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup loves this product. I was looking for another face powder and off the back of her recommendation I knew I would have to give it a try.

And....that concludes my Mac haul! Do you own any of these bits and bobs? What are your favourite Mac products, let me know in the comments!

Till next time,

New In: Alberto Balsam Shampoo and Conditioner!

Hello My Lovelies

I can't remember the last time I purchased shampoo & conditioners from Alberto Balsam but I spotted these in my local Tesco at £1 each, yes £1! Read on to see what I think....

I love shampoo's and conditioners so when I see a company rebrand all of their products in super snazzy new bottles and with a new formulation I have to grab them and give them ago and in some cases all of them.

I've actually already tried mandarin and papaya scent and it was beautiful, really fruity and fresh and the scent was exactly like a mandarin so I was not surprised to find the coconut and lychee fragrance to be creamy and as if you were on a sun drenched beach with cocktail in hand.

The combination gave my hair a wonderful squeaky clean wash with the shampoo foaming up and the conditioner making my hair feel super soft and moisturised. Whilst I do love to throw a lot of product onto my hair I found that these 350ml bottles lasted a long time and the new bottles enable you to turn them upside down so that you can use up every last bit of product which is great if you're on a budget or are using these on your whole family.

Have you tried these out yet, what are your favourite fragrances- let me know in the comments!

Till next time,

24 hours in Canterbury!

Hello My Lovelies

My Birthday was last week and I decided that a trip to Canterbury my old university city was how I wanted to celebrate. Having not been back since 2009 I couldn't wait to see how much it had changed.

We had 24 hours in the city which doesn't seem like much, but wow did we fit a lot in! First stop was for a wander through town for a bit of shopping and lunch- Canterbury has lots of amazing shops and it was super hard not to spend an utter fortune! I did pop into Mac so keep any eye out for an upcoming haul post.

We then popped along to my old University but the new campus- I had a good look around where all the current students study and I felt super proud that I'm a CCCU alumni!

Soon it was time to pop to the hotel before dinner and a rest before some more site seeing the next day.

We spent Sunday morning visiting more of my old haunts including some of the places I lived and the campus I spent all of my three years at. We then decided to go on a boat ride up the river, we had a great captain who told us lots of stories about Canterbury and the history.
We then had to have a cheeky Nando's as we don't have one on the Isle of Wight and before long it was time to get back in the car and drive the 3 hours back to the Island.

Have you ever visited Canterbury? What are your favourite places in the City- let me know in the comments.

Curvy Girl Outfit of the Night: Las Vegas Edition!

Hello My Lovelies

Whilst I didn't do any crazy partying in Las Vegas I did have some lovely meals out and went to some amazing shows. I wanted to share with you all one of my evening outfits...This particular night was spent going to see the Blue Man Group and a bit of fun in the casino. Whilst the photo's aren't great (Las Vegas casinos are dark!) I wanted to share them with you anyway.

My dress is was an utter bargain bought in Dorothy Perkins late last year for £10- it's a great length, black (my favourite) and suits my curvy figure. I've not had many chances to wear it since I bought it so I knew it had to come to Las Vegas with me.

I added my favourite jacket also from Dorothy Perkins, it's a faux leather and super comfy. My shoes are from Marks and Spencer a couple of year ago again from the sale, I think I paid £5.00 for them! I'm not a fan of heels but these aren't too high and I can make it through an evening without to much pain.

Finally I took my Chloe Drew bag with me to Las Vegas- I think this bag is one of my favourites in my collection but also the one I baby the most, probably because it cost me the earth- for that reason it doesn't come out too often and so I made sure I packed it in my hand luggage and used it every day whilst away.

Have you ever been to Las Vegas- let me know in the comments!
Make sure you take part in my Las Vegas giveaway!!!

What I got for my Birthday 2016!

Hello My Lovelies

My Birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I was utterly spoilt by both my friends and family but also my work buds!

I was treated to a spa voucher and one of my colleagues baked a gigantic chocolate cake filled with malteasers and dairy milks. She also added a crown as they like to call me Queen V which is very apt as I share my Birthday with the Queen!

My sister remembered that I had pointed out these pretty mugs in New Look a couple of months ago and also these extremely soft and comfy pj bottoms from M&S.

My parents sneakily brought back this Milani blusher for me from America and also knew that I wanted these super vibrant knickers from M&S. They also treated me to my Grand Canyon trip!

My sister also kindly bought me the most adorable t-shirt, one top has best and the other friends. She is going to wear one and I the other and we can be forever geeks together- I love it!
Finally my sister bought me these amazing lilac Superga trainers, she knows that I currently have an obsession for all types of trainers and these will make a great addition to my ever growing collection.

I had the best Birthday and it's not even over yet with a trip away- see where I went on my blog very soon.

Till next time,
                   Tori.
